Beautiful and varied hut hike from Gleisweiler, Rhineland-Palatinate.
This route leads through the low mountain range landscape of the Palatinate Forest and to nearby Neuscharfeneck Castle. The route is the short version of the well-known Premium Trail with refreshment stops at three of the Palatinate Forest huts, most of which are open at weekends.
The trail starts at the Lindenallee forest car park in Gleisweiler. From there, the trail leads slightly uphill to St Anne's Chapel, a Roman Catholic pilgrimage church from the 16th century, and the first hut of the same name (open on Sundays). From there, continue a little further uphill to the Trifelsblickhütte (open at weekends and on public holidays). From there, continue via the Dreimärker trail star where you leave the premium trail and shorten the route in the direction of the Landauer Hütte am Zimmerbrunnen (open Friday-Sunday).
