The certified Pfälzer Höhenweg quality trail begins in tranquil Winnweiler. The first stage alone promises plenty of variety. From the summit of the Kreuzberg, there are fantastic views of the surrounding hilly landscape. As the hike continues, you will learn a lot about the settlement and industrial history of the region; a farmers' nature trail, a miners' village and a Celtic village await you.
Once you reach the climatic health resort of Dannenfels, you are spoilt for choice between some very nice places to stay overnight and stop for refreshments.
