Panoramic circular trail with numerous viewing towers near Dernau, Rhineland-Palatinate
The route begins in the wine town of Dernau, close to the Ahr. This is followed by a very steep ascent with great views from the Krausberg tower. There is the Krausberghütte to stop off for refreshments. Later, the route leads up to the Steinthalskopf with its viewing tower, from where the Drachenfels and Petersberg can be seen. A wonderful route then leads downhill. The path becomes quite narrow and steep from Katzley onwards (take care in wet conditions). There are opportunities to stop for refreshments at the start and along the way.
The route can be easily reached from Dernau railway station or the Festplatz bus stop.
