Kaiser-Wilhelm-Denkmal - Hermannsdenkmal

From the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument to the Hermann Monument is an impressive ridge walk that connects two important symbols of German history. This route stretches across the Weser Mountains and the Teutoburg Forest, starting at the 88-metre-high Kaiser Wilhelm Monument above Porta Westfalica. The journey ends at the Hermann Monument, which commemorates the Cheruscan prince Arminius. The terrain comprises a constant series of ascents and descents through dense beech and spruce forests. The route follows well-marked forest tracks and historic paths such as the Wittekindsweg, which require considerable physical endurance due to the overall distance.
