• Trails closed due to fire in the Hautes Fagnes : From 14 August 2026, several trails in the Hautes Fagnes will be temporarily closed due to a major fire. This is one of the longest railway line cycle paths in Europe and runs through three countries - Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. The cycle path runs along the former railway line between Aachen and Troisvierges. Most of the route is tarmac. Through St. Vith, the cycle route runs away from the railway line and along roads with little traffic. The scenery is definitely worth it. Overnight accommodation along the route is somewhat sparse. Travelling to Aachen by train is no problem. Travelling from Troisvierges in Luxembourg is also possible by train, but is time-consuming. The nature along the route is varied and beautiful. Forests and meadows alternate with unique water landscapes. The High Fens nature reserve impresses with its rare flora and fauna.
