The forest path leads a few hundred meters along the Erkenruhr until a shelter appears at the fork in the road. From there, the signposted path "Theme Tour 3" leads to the left. There are some old slate quarries on and next to the path, which are home to various species of bats. It goes over and then along the idyllic Wüstebach. After about three kilometers and another crossing of the water, the path widens and leads out of the creek valley. Sturdy hiking shoes and sufficient provisions are recommended.
