The eighth stage of the Sauerland high-altitude flight leads through the Medebach Bay, which is also known as the "Tuscany of the Sauerland" due to its sunny climate. A special highlight is the huge Sauerland-Stabil panoramic chair, from which you have a wonderful view of the region. The trail leads up the Hilmesberg along natural paths, where you can also enjoy great views of the Medebach Bay and where the heather blooms in late summer. In wet weather, you should use the blue-marked bad weather variant of the hiking trail, which leads around the Hilmesberg and rejoins the yellow-marked main trail below the summit cross.
