Eifel Circular Kronenburger Himmelsglück

This picturesque circular hike leads through the Kyll Valley in the German-Belgian border region and explores one of the most charming ensembles in the Eifel. The path connects the historic castle village of Kronenburg with the idyllic Lake Kronenburg, following a diverse mixture of gentle meadow paths, shaded forest trails, and the cobbled alleys of the castle settlement. A central highlight is the panoramic view from the "Himmelsglück" viewpoint over the Eifel heights, as well as exploring the medieval castle ruins and well-preserved half-timbered houses. In the expansive valley areas and mixed forests, red kites, black storks, and roe deer can be brilliantly observed, while the lake serves as an important resting spot for water birds.
