The Ederhöhenweg follows the course of the River Eder and leads through the Siegerland, Wittgensteiner Bergland, the Ederbergland and the Kurhessische Bergland. It is marked with a white XE (on the territory of the Sauerland Mountain Association) or a white E (on the territory of the Hessisch-Waldeck Mountain and Heritage Association). It leads over wooded heights, narrow valleys, along Lake Edersee, through rustling beech forests and through the unique Kassel Basin. There is also plenty to discover culturally; historic burial mounds and evidence of the Chatte, castle ruins and monasteries are all along the way.
