Scenic circular route in Velbert, North Rhine-Westphalia. The circular route first leads up through the forest to the Isenburg ruins. The castle was completed in 1200 by order of Count Adolf von Altena and his brother Arnold von Altena and has had an eventful and dramatic history - it was destroyed again just 25 years after it was built! There are places to stop for refreshments in Nierenhof. The starting point is the car park at the school in Nierenhof. The tour can also be easily started from Velbert-Nierenhof railway station.
