The starting point of the hike is the historic St Kilian's Church in Lüdges. From there, you follow the babbling of the Eschenbach stream into the beautiful Meintetal valley. The original springs of the Eschenbach - the "Siebenquellen" (seven springs) - are a lovely resting place before the ascent to the Osterberg begins. The "Hotel Kempenhof" mountain restaurant is also a good place to take a break and stop for refreshments. The Osterberg cross offers a fantastic view over the entire valley basin. From the Osterberg, the descent back to the town begins.
