This beautiful tour to Lake Lassahn starts at the car park right next to St Abundius Church. The route begins in the forest and then continues close to the shore. There is also a short excursion to Stintenburg Island. Surrounded by tall trees and a wild and romantic reed belt, the inhabited island is located here in Lake Lassahn. The Stintenburg estate changed hands between the 13th and 18th centuries and was owned by the Bernstorff family from 1740. Count Albrecht von Bernstorff, who was critical of the regime, was murdered by the Gestapo in Berlin in 1943 and the estate had a chequered history. Today, the estate is once again owned by the von Bernstorff family.
The café and restaurant Seeblick are close to the starting point, so taking a nice break after the tour is possible.
