Stage 1 of the long-distance cycle route "Havel Cycle Route", Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
This is the first stage of the almost 400 km long Havel Cycle Route, which follows the eponymous river from its source near Ankershagen to its mouth near Gnevsdorf and is one of the most beautiful river cycle routes in Germany.
The first stage is around 60 kilometres long, starting in Ankershagen and ending in Fürstenberg (Havel). Countless lakes and ponds characterise the landscape, especially in the Müritz National Park.
The finish point of this route can be reached by bus and train and there are places to stay overnight and stop for refreshments.
