Weserbergland-Weg Stage 12: Rohdental - Rinteln

This route follows stage 12 of the Weserbergland-Weg, connecting Rohdental with the historic town of Rinteln on a mystical and scenic section. The hike first leads to the Paschenburg, a prominent stone house in the middle of the forest that offers a magnificent view of the Weser Uplands. Along the ridge of the Weser Mountains, a detour to the historic Schaumburg Castle is well worth it, before the trail continues past the Luhden Klippenturm and finally descends into the beautiful old town of Rinteln directly on the Weser River. Overnight stays are available in guesthouses in Rohdental or in the numerous hotels in Rinteln's old town; wild camping is prohibited. A lunch break is recommended at the restaurants at Schaumburg Castle or Paschenburg, though sufficient potable water should be carried for the ridge hike.
