Wonderful circular route in the Harz National Park, Lower Saxony.
The hike leads from Sankt Andreasberg across open fields and into the woods north of the town without any major differences in altitude. Here in the shade of the trees are also the Dreibodensteine. The three large granite blocks were created by what is known as spheroidal weathering. However, a legend explains their existence with the heartlessness of a woman who did not want to share her three loaves of bread with a starving miner - the loaves grew into huge stones and crushed their owner. So those who take provisions with them on their way should be prepared to share them. At the starting point there are several rest stops and toilets.
