Radrundweg Axstedt

The tour starts either at Lübberstedt railway station or in the centre of Axstedt. The village, with a history stretching back over 1000 years, is surrounded by mixed woodland, farmland and meadows. On the Hünengräberweg trail, you pass the hunebed stones from the Neolithic period in the remains of a hill. In the wooded area to the west of Lübberstedt railway station, you cycle past the 400-hectare site of the so-called "Muna". The "Muna" was used to produce ammunition during the Second World War and later as a weapons depot. Guided tours of the site are offered on fixed dates from April to October (by appointment) and some of the buildings and bunkers can still be seen in their original state.
