The hike starts at the car park at the Zur Schunterquelle restaurant northwest of Räbke. From there, the trail leads along near-natural forest paths to the so-called "Schweineweiden". This is followed by a fairly long ascent to Hagenweg. The trail continues in an easterly direction to the source of the Schunter, where an information board provides comprehensive information about the source and the course of the Schunter.
