Hüttenweg Circular Route in Grunewald

This diverse route leads through the heart of Berlin's Grunewald, one of the capital's largest contiguous forest areas. The path explores the wooded and water-rich area near the Avus highway, following a mixture of wide forestry tracks, shaded forest trails, and sandy sections typical of the Brandenburg landscape. A central highlight is the connection between natural space and architecture, particularly through its proximity to the historic Jagdschloss Grunewald (hunting lodge) and the picturesque Grunewaldsee. In the dense mixed forests, wild boars, squirrels, and various woodpecker species can be brilliantly observed, while the lakeshores provide a habitat for water birds. The route is mostly flat and is ideal for an extensive walk, a run, or an exploratory tour with a dog in the popular off-leash area by the lake.
