The volcano cycle path starts in Altenstadt-Höchst and initially follows the Nidder in a north-easterly direction via Ortenberg to Lißberg. It continues to the volcanic town of Gedern, where you can either visit the historic castle and castle park or enjoy a refreshing dip in Lake Gedern. On the last section from Gedern to Grebenhain, you will have to conquer a few metres in altitude, but you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the Vogelsberg.
