Von Willingen zum höchsten Berg Nordrhein-Westfalens

This walk leads from the Hoppeck Valley up to the Langenberg, the highest peak in North Rhine-Westphalia. On the way, you’ll pass the historic Richtplatz, a medieval court site that now lies as a peaceful spot in the heart of the forest. The path winds its way through dense spruce forests and finally reaches the vast high moorland at Neuer Hagen. Here, the landscape impresses with rare plants such as mountain avens and cottongrass. From the summit cross on the Clemensberg, there is a sweeping view across the Sauerland. As the paths are unpaved, sturdy walking boots make it easier to navigate the root-covered forest trails.
