Family-friendly circular hiking trail in the Reinhardtswald Nature Park, Hesse.
The Sababurg primeval forest nature reserve is the oldest of the protected areas in Hesse. A total of three circular hiking trails lead through the primeval forest, of which the red/woodpecker circular trail is the longest. The trail starts at the Drecktor car park, from where you can walk along natural paths around the Kuhberg nature reserve. Despite the short distance, hikers can look forward to all kinds of sights. For example, the route passes a historic Hutewald forest and a wild boar enclosure.
