This official Waldhessen cycle route R10 starts in Bad Hersfeld and leads upstream in the Geistal valley. At the end of the Geistal, the cycle route branches off into two routes.
For the most part, you cycle along tarmac cycle paths, but sometimes also along a country road with little traffic and gravel paths. You cycle through the typical Waldhessen landscape: valleys criss-crossed by small rivers and villages and dense forests. From the Eisenberg, at 624 metres the highest mountain in the area, there are some very beautiful views of the Aula and Geistal valleys.
