Unique circular hiking trail in the Werra Valley, Hesse
This route in the Frau-Holle-Land Geo-Nature Park is a certified premium hiking trail that runs through a karst landscape characterised by karst springs and dry valleys that is unique in northern and eastern Hesse. A special attraction of the Ulfen karst are the legendary Wichtellöcher (pixie holes). Hikers who are more interested in magnificent views than geological attractions will get their money's worth on the shell limestone heights of the Ringgau plateau.
The entire route is very well signposted, just follow the yellow "P20" symbol.
If required, the trail can also be reached by bus and train from Sontra railway station, from there take the bus to Ulfen and get off at the "Sontra-Ulfen Kindergarten" stop.
