This route is a certified premium hiking trail. Most hikers take four or five days to really enjoy this varied long-distance trail. The excellently marked route takes you through dense forests with ancient oaks and past bodies of water where beavers are busy building dams and castles. The open country sections offer marvellous views through lush green valleys as far as the Vogelsberg.
If you want to walk the entire route, you can start in Schlüchtern or Langenselbold. Other starting points for shorter stages can be found in Bad Soden-Salmünster-Mernes, Bad Orb or Freigericht-Horbach.
