The longest stage of the Kellerwaldsteig trail awaits at the very end of the long-distance hike. The twelfth and final section of the certified quality trail runs through the varied forest and field landscapes between Battenhausen and Frankenau. You pass through some lovely little villages, some of which offer refreshment stops. A special attraction along the way is Haina Abbey, a former Cistercian abbey and one of the most important High Gothic monuments in Germany.
