Scenic route around the Twistesee lake. New course from 2011. The running route runs almost exclusively on paved field and forest paths. The route is profiled and there are a few climbs to contend with. From a height of approx. 225 metres, the first few kilometres are more or less uphill until the highest point of approx. 480 metres is reached (see route profile). From around kilometre 14, the route then descends back down to the lake. The start and finish are at the Twistesee lido. The marathon runners run the course twice. Refreshment points approximately every 5 kilometres. The course is a pure landscape run. There are almost no spectators due to the route.
