Wonderful circular route in the Schorfheide-Chorin biosphere reserve, Brandenburg.
This wonderful route starts at the gateway to the Schorfheide, in Groß Schönebeck. The village is easily accessible, as the Heidekrautbahn railway also runs here. The route first leads a little way through the village before following a path along the beautiful northern shore of Lake Treptow. The idyllic forest and field paths are easy to master and mostly offer uninterrupted views of the lake in the middle of the Schorfheide. Herons, great crested grebes - and with a bit of luck - white-tailed eagles can also be spotted here. The trail continues to Böhmerheide, where the entire "Weißer See" lake is circumnavigated. In summer, it's worth packing swimming gear to jump into the water here in the "Weißer See" Lake.
