Exploring the district on roads with little traffic - this route is excellent! Only a few main roads are used and if you don't time it to coincide with rush hour, it's not dangerous here either. The Spreewald romance is alive and well, with open-cast mining lakes in Blischdorf and Laasow, post-mining landscapes near Steinitz and the Spremberg dam. Continue through meadows, fields and forests to Forst and from here along the Neisse dam, the German-Polish border, until shortly before Guben. Now through pine forests, partly on good cycle paths, partly on gravel roads, past a few more lakes. Krayner Teiche, Pinnower See, Kleinsee, Großsee.
