Popular circular hiking trail in Tegeler Forst, Berlin
This is a very beautiful circular walk with lots of forest and water in the district of Reinickendorf in north-west Berlin. Many of the capital's most beautiful bodies of water can be found in this area, including the Havel, Heiligensee and Tegeler See. This route first leads along the banks of the Havel, then past Lake Tegel and through the idyllic Tegeler Forst nature reserve back to the starting point. A special attraction are the wildlife enclosures at the forestry centre, where you can observe wild boar, fallow deer and even mouflon at close quarters. On warm days, it's worth stopping off at one of the bathing spots along the route.
Accessible by bus and train. There are refreshment stops in Tegelort.
