On the road in Berlin's trendy neighbourhood This charming tour through Berlin's popular trendy neighbourhood of Friedrichshain begins at Strausberger Platz. From here to Frankfurter Tor, the beautiful so-called Zuckerbäcker buildings from the GDR era stretch out. Karl-Marx-Allee is a wonderful place to cycle. The cycle paths and pavements are wonderfully wide. First you cycle along this road to the Weberwiese underground station, which takes its name from the Weberwiese meadow located there. Shortly after turning off, you wonder whether you are still in Berlin. The houses on Gaudenzer Straße could make you think you are in a small town in Brandenburg. However, you are now not far from the Szendeclub Berghain. The building may look like a huge concrete block from the outside, but it is probably the most famous techno club in the world. Another highlight of this route is the East Side Gallery, which leads directly to Warschauer Brücke, one of Berlin's most popular photo opportunities. This is followed by the Rudolfkiez neighbourhood, which includes the Zwingli Church and the Strahlau peninsula. This is a great place to visit by bike. Along the riverside path, you can always catch great views of the Spree. Finally, the route takes you to Boxhagener Str., probably the best-known part of Friedrichshain. Here you can have a wonderful time exploring bars and restaurants. There is also plenty to explore on the nearby RAW site with its numerous clubs and bars.
