Idyllic circular hike through the Lorenzer Reichswald forest near Nuremberg in Middle Franconia.
The Lorenzer Reichswald is a wonderful oasis in the middle of the city, which is attractive at any time of year and is a good place to switch off. The starting point of this idyllic hike can be reached by bus (bus stop at the FCN sports centre). Those arriving by car can park in the large car park in front of the Nürnberg Hotel.
From there, the technically easy paths lead along the Fischbach stream into the forest to the "Russenwiese". Directly after this beautiful open space, the idyllic Holzweiher pond awaits. Often along gentle streams, the paths continue through the forest until finally the Inselrestaurant Valzner Weiher, including the beautiful pond, invites you to linger and stop for a bite to eat (please note opening times).
