The trail starts from the Alte Hochstraße forest car park and then leads into the forest. The first half of the 11-kilometre route leads through open fields, the other through a wooded plateau. One offers views of Neunkirchen or the Annaberg and glimpses of the Naab valley from the elevated open terrain; the other forest paths on the foothills of the Upper Palatinate Jura.
