Stage 2 of the long-distance cycle route "Salinen-Radweg", Bavaria/Salzburg (Austria).
This is the second and final stage of the historic Saltworks Cycle Route, which runs for around 130 kilometres through the Chiemgau Alps and Salzburger Land, linking the salt and saltworks towns of Rosenheim, Traunstein and Berchtesgaden and the Austrian town of Hallein.
The second stage begins in Traunstein (Bavaria) and ends in Hallein (Salzburg). Cycling in the footsteps of salt, you pass the picturesque Voralpental valley and historically significant towns such as Bad Reichenhall, Berchtesgaden and Bischofswiesen.
The start and finish points of this route can be reached by bus and train and there are places to stay overnight and stop for refreshments.
