Amorbach Circular Route

Varied mountain bike route in the Bergstrasse Odenwald Geopark. The circular route connects Amorbach, Schneeberg and Kirchzell. The hilly landscape combines strenuous climbs with fun descents through wooded sections and quiet stream valleys. From the starting point, the route leads along a tarmac path to the Gotthardsweg, which has a number of hairpin bends before the first tough climb. This is rewarded with an amazing panoramic view. From there it is a short and crisp descent to the Gotthardsattel and further downhill over gravel, then over tarmac on the cycle path to Schneeberg. A further ascent follows via a meadow path to the Bopphüttentrail junction, from where the route turns into the Bopphütten Trail. Follow this trail to the end of Kirchzell. Here, the trail now leads up the valley ditch for a longer period of time, sometimes gently ascending, sometimes steeper, to the Neidhof farm. The trail continues uphill and downhill along the well-known "Russenpfad" until the route reaches the starting point. It is good to bring some mountain bike experience.
