This hike takes you around the island of Herreninsel, which lies in Lake Chiemsee. Regular Chiemsee Schiffahrt ferries are at the starting point (note timetable and prices). From there, you walk around the island via the visitor center through varied landscapes to the vantage points of Otto's Ruh and Paul's Ruh. From there, the magnificent view extends over Lake Chiemsee and into the Chiemgau Alps.
