Varied hike around Rottenbuch.
The "Around Rottenbuch" tour is a long, varied circular route that can be shortened at any time. The landscape offers forests, small gorges and marvellous mountain panoramas from the Mühlegg and Schmauzenberg viewpoints.
The start is at the Fohlenmarkt car park. After crossing the districts of Weihanger and Solder, you reach forests and meadows. An optional detour to Mühlegg with its magnificent views is possible. The long trail leads over the Vogelherd to the Schmauzenberg. The descent includes crossing the Talbach gorge over a wild and romantic bridge. The last section of the trail runs along the edge of the forest and leads steeply up to the lower monastery courtyard via a depression with former monastery ponds. A visit to the former monastery church "Mariae Geburt" is highly recommended before returning to the starting point.
