The route runs from Maxhütte-Haidhof via Teublitz and Saltendorf to Burglegenfeld. From here, the route follows the Naab river for quite some distance to Pielenhofen, from where the cycle path leads through the shady high forest along forest tracks with alternating easy and steeper climbs to Wolfsegg. Worth seeing here is the late medieval hilltop castle on a rocky cone over 420 metres high with a castle cave. From here, the route leads via Steinsberg, Buchenlohe, Bubach am Forst, Ziegelhütte, Pirkensee and Ponholz back to the starting point in Maxhütte-Haidhof.
