The Upper Palatinate Trail leads from north to south through the Upper Palatinate and takes in scenic highlights and historically significant places. Via Tirschenreuth, Plößberg, Flossenbürg, Pleystein, Moosbach, Schönsee, Kulz and Thanstein, the Upper Palatinate Trail follows the road to Neunburg vorm Wald and via Bodenwöhr to Nittenau. The route then continues via Nittenau, Falkenstein, Brennberg and Wörth to Regensburg (229 kilometres in total). The starting point is the 'Kappl'. The church, dedicated to the Holy Trinity, was built between 1685 and 1689 by master builder Georg Dientzenhofer. With its cloverleaf-shaped ground plan, it is a unique work of European Baroque architecture.
