Main Cycle Route Stage 6: Lohr am Main - Wertheim

6th stage from Lohr am Rhein in the Spessart region to Wertheim on the popular Mainradweg long-distance cycle route in central Germany. The Mainradweg is an official long-distance cycle route of numerous German tourism organisations and runs through the federal states of Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate. The signage consists of a grey and green square with the inscription "Mainradweg". This stage leads from the beautiful half-timbered town of Lohr to Wertheim. The old town and the historic fishermen's quarter with its half-timbered buildings in Lohr are particularly worth seeing. From there, the route follows the banks of the Main through varied landscapes and various towns. One worthwhile stop is in Neustadt. Here you will find the Benedictine monastery with its monastery dome (552 metres, the highest elevation in the Main-Spessart district). Marktheidenfeld is another place worth seeing on the way.
