Historical theme trail in the Bavarian Jura, Bavaria The art trail leads along the Restaltmühl and explores the history and unique landscape of Essing. There are trigrams, benches and sculptures by various artists. If you like, you can also cross the Tatzelwurm nearby - it is one of the longest wooden bridges in Europe and crosses the Ludwig-Main-Danube Canal. Accessibility Path conditions: The path is stepless, signposted throughout and at least 1.50 metres wide. It is not easy to walk and drive on throughout, there are wide cobblestones. There are no danger spots and some tactile and visually recognisable side boundaries. The majority of the path is car-free and not designated for cyclists, skaters and horse riders; it runs along a road with motor vehicle traffic for approx. 60 metres and requires an unsecured crossing of a road with motor vehicle traffic. The Tatzelwurm is 200m long and is a wooden plank path with a maximum distance between the elements of 1cm. Gradient: The maximum gradient is up to 14% over 3 metres. Refreshment and rest stops: Seating is available at 250m intervals. Transport links: There are car parks on the market square, on the Kunstweg and on the Tatzelwurm; however, these are not designated car parks for people with reduced mobility. There is a bus stop approx. 13m away. Additional information: Assistance dogs may be brought along. The information about the stations and orientation is in written form and can be read while seated; it is not tactile (Braille) or audible.
