This route is the 11th stage of the Goldsteig Southern Route, a long-distance hiking trail in Germany, and runs from Reichenbach to Falkenstein. The trail features moderate climbs through dense forests, passes the Pfaffenstein granite natural monument and continues past the ruins of Lobenstein Castle. After passing through Zell, walkers tackle stony sections and the mystical Lauberberg, characterised by boulders, before the final ascent to Falkenstein Castle. Accommodation is in local guesthouses in Falkenstein, as wild camping is strictly prohibited along the entire route. All natural water sources must be filtered, and it is recommended that you carry extra water for the dry sections along the forest ridges.
