At first, the route climbs leisurely along a tarmac road, then continues along gravel paths. Don't miss the turn-off to the right onto the beautiful single trail (one of the 2 or 3 highlights of the tour). Then up to the Ochsenkopf. There is also a nice MTB downhill test here (incl. lift).
This route leads down the other side of the hill into the Main valley. This descent is quite challenging and interesting, at least at the beginning. The path consists of many stone steps that you can easily jump down on a fully. On the other side of the valley, it's back up to the Schneeberg. The descent is initially on a tarmac road, then continues along a few forest paths.
