A beautiful tour of discovery of the island city in Bamberg, which is surrounded by the Main-Danube Canal and the Regnitz. You start in the historic old town near the cathedral square. There are numerous sights, cafés and restaurants to discover here. First you stay on the mainland side and walk along the southern bank of the Regnitz to the bridge that leads over the water to the Bamberger Hain public park. Turn right and walk along the north side of the island to the Chain Bridge. Here you turn left into the island city and get to the lively Maximiliansplatz with its historic buildings and hustle and bustle.
