This fantastic route leads to the Urach waterfall, a very special natural spectacle. A special phenomenon can be observed at the waterfall. The calcareous water loses lime and deposits it in moss cushions, covering them with a layer of lime. Over thousands of years, the new layers form metre-thick deposits from which the porous rock calcareous tufa (spring tufa) is formed.
Natural paths through the forest landscape dominate, along which marvellous views of the landscape can be enjoyed. A beautiful natural highlight along the route is the elephant cave. A nice detour at the end to the Schlossberg or the Hohenurach crevice cave is well worthwhile.
The hike is particularly popular at weekends. The paths are well maintained and accessible throughout.
