Beautiful, scenic circular route in the Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg.
This picturesque tour leads through the idyllic Black Forest landscape, along the Waldenecksee, over the Yberg and to the summit castle, the Yburg. The ascent here is steep, but the phenomenal view over the Black Forest and the Rhine plain makes up for the effort. Incidentally, the name "Yburg" comes from the "Yberg", on which many yew trees still grow today. These were formerly called "iwe" and so the "Iberg" and from the 16th century the "Yberg".
There is also a restaurant at the castle with a great view. Before setting off, information about the opening times should be obtained (see tips).
