The Sehring quarry pond is nestled in the picturesque Lichtennauer Rheinniederung between Greffern and Grauelsbaum. The Lichtennauer Rheinniederung is a designated nature and landscape conservation area covering 236 hectares. This includes the Wörthwald in Lichtenau and the Riedmatten in Scherzheim. A variety of landscapes such as meadows, forest outside the floodplain, former softwood and hardwood riparian forests, oxbow lakes, the Rhine flood dyke and the Rhine river can be discovered.
