Panoramic circular route in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, Baden-Württemberg.
The trail leads along beautiful forest paths through marvellous mixed forest to the ruins of Neuenfels Castle, which was built around 1300. The castle was inhabited until the 16th century, and the moat, remains of the wall and the front with tower are still preserved today. Shortly after the castle, the highest point of the hike is reached and from here on, the route is a relaxed downhill walk straight back to Oberweiler. Wonderful views of the Rhine Valley and the Vosges mountains await along the way.
There are restaurants to stop off at in Schweighof and Badenweiler. The start is at the south car park in Kanderner Straße. The route can also be started from the town centre, where there are several bus stops.
