Picturesque, varied circular hiking trail in the Black Forest Centre/North Nature Park.
This family-friendly route leads around the Schwarzenbach dam, the largest reservoir in the northern and central Black Forest. A wonderful hike along the shore and through the wild forest, with fantastic views over the lake and the Karwand. On the second half, after crossing the country road, you enter the Black Forest National Park. Dogs must be kept on a lead here, as ground nesting birds could otherwise be disturbed. Overall, however, the route is very dog-friendly. There are free car parks opposite the city wall. Travelling by a combination of bus and train is also possible. There are nice places to stop for refreshments at the finish point. The lake and path are very popular in the warmer months, so it can get a little crowded.
