This scenic High Black Forest gourmet trail is a certified premium hiking trail. From the hiking car park in Wolfsgrund, the route leads along mostly narrow paths through the northern slopes of the lake from one fantastic vantage point to the next. In addition to a great view of the Schluchsee, it is possible to see as far as the Swiss Alps from here on a clear day. From the Ahaberg, it then slowly goes back in the direction of Schluchsee, along the shore of which the path leads back to the hikers' car park. On warm summer days, it's worth packing a bathing suit to cool off in the cool waters of the Schluchsee after this not without strenuous hike.
The starting point can be reached by bus and train and there are places to stop for refreshments.
