The start is at the car park very close to the historic Homburg castle. The castle is also one of the first highlights of the hike. At the top of the castle there is a viewing tower with a great panoramic view and a rest area.
It is also possible to start the tour at Stahringen railway station. From here, simply follow the markings "Verbindungsweg zum Homburg-Steig". In the area around the castle, the route leads along narrow and steep paths.
